Passion In The Sphere Of Instinct: How Anger Works In The Social Subtype

According to Claudio Naranjo, the Social 1 presents notable differences compared to other subtypes of anger. The primary characteristic of this personality is what Oscar Ichazo called inadaptability, although Naranjo prefers to use the word rigidity to refer to a teacher-like mentality. One common feature of E1 is the repression of anger, which manifests differently depending on the subtype. For instance, both the Social 1 and the Self-Preservation 1 repress anger, but while the former does so by appearing distant and cold, the latter seems warmer and friendlier. The Social 1 is obsessive and tends to be against everything despite everything. They hold firmly to their point of view, sometimes in an exaggerated way, and come to believe that nothing works out for them and that everything can be criticized and improved. These characteristics, common to all E1s, are especially evident in the social subtype to the extent that their ideas and ideals of perfection become a filter of concrete reality that complicates their life and that of others.
