My Job Sucks (Testing)
So at my current job (while I'm waiting to be accepted into the Canadian Armed Forces), I'm basically a jack-of-all-trades that deals with hardware and lawn equipment. I work the front counter, go out with the back shop to set up tent rentals for weddings, inform customers about (and build) chainsaws and strong-trimmers, snowblowers, etc.
However, the one task I hate more than anything else on the planet is being a "parts-person." AKA, someone who takes calls and inquiries for parts, whether that be carburetors, air filters, blades, etc. Am I qualified to be a parts person? Nope. Do I have any formal training? Also, nope. But it's my job anyways, and I swear to God, if I have to take *another* parts call in where the customer expects me to find a matching part, when they don't have a model number, or serial number, or even know *what* item they are looking for parts for, etc., I'm going to start systematically breaking fingers.
You know it's bad when I prefer my old job working in an oilfield shop, where I had to hit the gas on a forklift while hauling explosives, because my employers could not be bothered to salt the ramp into the seacans during the winter. At least I felt *something* besides anger.
